Comparing My Two Favourite Mascaras - Highend vs Drugstore/Affordable

My two favourite mascaras at the minute - L'Oreal Mega Volume Miss Manga Mascara and Rodial Glamolash Mascara XXL. The Rodial one is three times the price of the L'Oreal one and yet I can't see much difference between the two in terms of application, longevity and how they look on my eyes. In fact I actually prefer the more affordable mascara the tiniest bit more. I think it makes my eyelashes the slightest bit longer and blacker than the Rodial one. That being said I love them both and they both make my eyelashes look amazing.

In the above pictures I had the L'Oreal Paris Mega Volume Miss Manga Mascara on my left eye and I had the Rodial Glamolash Mascara XXL on my right eye.

High End Mascara - Rodial Glamolash Mascara XXL - Black - £24 for the full size

Below is how the website describes this mascara:

Achieve supercharged volume to the eyelashes with this intense black colour concentration. With a long-wear formula this ensures eyelashes are maximised from day to night. Contains beeswax for lash conditioning, carnauba wax for even adherence to prevent clumping and soluble collagen to provide full body to lashes with added shine.

Now the one I have is not the full size version of this mascara as I received this small sample size/travel size in my first Glossybox. Ever since I received this I have been using it loads and I love it. It makes my lashes really black, long and voluminous. I love the wand and bristles on it. I'm just not sure if it is worth £24 in all honesty I was quite shocked when I found out the price of it. That being said I have no complaints about the mascara itself it is definitely one of my all time favourite mascaras and it performs really well.

Drugstore/Affordable Mascara - L'Oreal Paris Mega Volume Miss Manga Mascara - Black - £7.99

Below is how the website describes this mascara:

Our exclusive formula, made up of enlarging collagen spheres works perfectly in conjunction with the 360° flexible cone shaped brush to amplify upper lashes and reveal lower lashes. The exclusive formula also contains a trilogy of polymers for absolute hold and staying power.
Mega Volume Miss Manga Mascara creates 15x more impact compared to natural lashes. Mega volume on top and bottom lashes with ultimate hold.

I still can't believe this mascara is only £7.99 as it is just amazing. I love how long and black it makes my eyelashes look. The top of the wand is very flexible and bends back and forth when you are applying your mascara which makes it easier to get to the root of your lashes and to wiggle the product through your top and bottom lashes. The fact that the wand is thin makes it a lot easier to apply the mascara to the bottom lashes without getting product all over your face which I am very pleased about.

So to conclude I love both of these mascaras and I think they perform pretty much identically to one another. As I said before I have the small version of the Rodial mascara and I'm not sure if I am going to purchase the full size one when this one runs out as I think the affordable L'Oreal Miss Manga mascara is just as good for a third of the price. I think there are some pretty amazing affordable mascaras out there from affordable brands and I don't find it necessary to spend a fortune on a high end mascara for that reason. I would rather spend more money on different makeup products that perhaps don't perform as well from the drugstore.

Let me know in the comments section what your favourite mascara of all time is as I'd love to try out some new ones and I would love to hear from you.
Thanks for reading.
Love Anita
